Novell Linux Desktop (NLD) SDK is a comprehensive development tool kit that is designed to support developers, as well as Independent Hardware Vendors (IHVs) and Independent Software Vendors (ISVs), to create applications on or port them to NLD enterprise products.
This SDK is based on and requires Novell Linux Desktop.
It's multi-platform capabilities ensure that nearly all tools are available on Linux platforms. It features several integrated development environments (IDEs), support for programming languages (including C, C++, Java Perl, Python, and PHP), as well as additional development tools like debuggers and graphic design programs.
The SDK also contains most of the tools that were used to produce SLES.
The highlights for this release include the following:
To install the SDK or any part of it, use update.novell.com.
As part of your NLD installation, your system should be activated against the ZENworks Linux Management servers (which are also located at update.novell.com).
You can also use the Red Carpet channel. From the Red Carpet menu, click Edit > Channel Subscriptions. If your system is activated, you can see the nld9-sdk channel.
The pegasus-wbem package that ships with the SDK and the openwbem package that ships with Novell Linux Desktop 9 are mutually exclusive.
Please direct general feedback and suggestions to ndk@novell.com. Because this is a first release of the NLD SDK, we plan to make changes based on the feedback we receive.
If you encounter problems with the software, please report them by using Bugzilla or your regular contact or feedback channel.
