1.0 Nsure Audit

Nsure Audit uses a client/server model to enable applications to report events to a central logging server. Using Nsure Audit, applications can securly and efficently report events to a single location where administrators are provided a robust toolset to perform application auditing and monitoring.

1.1 Supported Interfaces

The client portion of Nsure Audit, called a Platform Agent, can be developed in C, Java, or Visual Basic, and can run on NetWare^®, Windows, Linux, and Unix platforms.

The ont__enu.pdf file contains conceptual information and C reference documentation. Javadoc for the Java interface is available in the api folder of the installation, and a full Visual Basic sample is contained in examples\logapp\vb.

2.0 What's New

2.1 September 2004

For the September 2004 release, the following changes were made:

Binaries

Made several minor changes to the structure of the kit to resolve problems encountered during installation.
Updated the Java platform agent, nauditpa.jar.
Updated the Java certificate.

Documentation

2.2 July 2004

For the July 2004 release, the following changes were made to implement the new functionality in Nsure Audit 1.0.2:

Binaries

Added libraries for creating log channel drivers in Java.
Created a new main reporting function, logEventExt, to provide access to the expanded event fields.
Added makefiles and ant build scripts to simplify the sample build process

Documentation

Added conceptual information on creating instrumentation and log channel drivers, and updated the API reference.
Added details on the new event structure.

Sample

Added several samples that demonstrate instrumentation and log channel drivers in C and Java.
