1.0 Overview

GroupWise 5.x, 6.x, and OLE let you embed an Address Book ActiveX Control in your solution. You can also customize how your solution obtains contact information from the Address Book.

The ActiveX controls (OCXs) provided with this SDK (Address Book OCX and Name Completion Control OCX) can be used in a development environment that can build OLE Control containers such as Delphi 2.0, Visual Basic 4.0 (VB), and Visual C++. From C or C++, you can access GroupWise services and the data store using OLE Automation.

From VB or Delphi 32-bit, you can access GroupWise services and the data store using ActiveX controls.

The ActiveX controls provided with this SDK (Address Book OCX and Name Completion OCX) are automatically installed and registered with GroupWise, but they are not automatically registered in Delphi or VB. You must register each ActiveX control within Delphi or VB before you can use the ActiveX controls in those environments.

2.0 General Information

To use the GroupWise ActiveX Controls, you must have a 32-bit version of GroupWise installed.

Delphi users should explicitly destroy these controls when the form on which they are contained is closed. They should also make sure the Address Book OCX and the Address Book are the same version by updating the OCX when they update the Address Book.

3.0 Documentation

Documentation help files are contained in the download. For help in your development environment, press F1.

The documentation download includes PDF files. After you have installed the documentation, use the "NDK Documents" entry on your Start menu to quickly locate and access NDK documentation.

To read or print the documentation, you need Adobe Acrobat Reader 4.0, a free download available from http://www.adobe.com/prodindex/acrobat/readstep.html.

The documents in this download were created as standalone files; therefore, links between files in this download and links to files in other downloads will not resolve.
